As a creative director, UX designer and industrial designer many things have changed in the past 17 years since I began my first design challenge. However, one truth that has remained the same to drive successful designs – that is to understand the primary users needs and business objectives when creating design solutions. Whether I am wireframing, understanding my users needs or being an information architect, I always carry the responsibility of business thinking and design thinking on my shoulders.
One of my latest creations is the “LUZ By Houman” brand. I have, designed and implemented from start-to-finish all aspects of this brand. ‘LUZ By Houman’, is an innovative luxury jewelry collection which is underpinned by ergonomically custom-designed four-sided rings. I also closely monitored and managed the birth of this brand from introduction, launch, marketing and branding to securing distribution with luxury purveyors like Neiman Marcus.
